The police arrested the man who brutally murdered his daughter at the Pedda Gogulapalli bus stop in CS Puram mandal on Tuesday.
Informing this to the media here on Tuesday, Superintendent of Police Malika Garg said that the deceased Bucchiraju Manjula (13) was found murdered on the outskirts of S Gollapalli village in Kanigiri mandal on August 22 at around 7:30 am. Her body was found behind bushes. The deceased girl Manjula was studying 7th class at ZP high school. B Venkata Narasamma, the mother of the deceased lodged a complaint with the Kanigiri police station.
The accused Bucchiraju Venkatswarulu was working as a mason in Telangana state and he started suspecting the fidelity of his wife Narasamma who lives at Padmapuram village with her daughters. Venkateswarlu was addicted to liquor and used to harass his wife. He used to harass his daughter Manjula also. The deceased girl used to go to school from Padmapuram village to Kanigiri.
On August 21, Srinivasulu, the maternal uncle of deceased Manjula, took her to school on his motorcycle. On the same day, Venkateswrulu, the father of the deceased girl Manjula went to school and took her to the outskirts, and smashed her head with a boulder.
A special team led by Additional SP (Crime) Sridhar and SDPO R Ramaraju and CI A Shivarama Krishna Reddy investigated the case and arrested the accused Venkateswarlu.
The SP appreciated the police team for arresting the accused without hours of the murder.
