Must read

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy stressed the need to bring Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and polytechnics under the purview of the state’s Skill University to streamline skill development programmes.
Stressing the importance of modernizing technical education, he asked officials to explore ways to integrate these institutions into a cohesive framework that enhances the employability of students. The CM was speaking while addressing a detailed review held on Saturday at the secretariat.
The Chief Minister called for a focused upgrade of ITIs into Advanced Technology Centres (ATCs) across the state. He emphasized that the syllabus in these
centres must be aligned with industry standards and evolving technological demands to better prepare students to join the workforce.

He directed officials to address any shortage of teaching staff in these centres without delay to ensure that the quality of training remains top-notch.

The CM also suggested the constitution of a special committee that would recommend changes in the existing syllabus. He said that industry experts should be consulted to make the curriculum relevant and competitive.

The CM also encouraged officials to seek assistance from the Skill University to support these upgrades if required.

Another key point discussed at the meeting was the expansion of the ATC network. Revanth asked officials to study the feasibility of establishing new ATCs in polytechnics. He directed them to identify Assembly constituencies currently without ITIs and submit a report.

The Chief Minister set a target to ensure that 100 Assembly constituencies have either ITIs or ATCs to improve the state’s skill development infrastructure.

The Chief Minister also asked officials to formulate concrete plans for bringing ITIs, ATCs and polytechnics under the jurisdiction of the Skill University, which would enable a unified approach to vocational and technical education.
