NCP President Sharad Pawar gave a shocker to Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao. Both these leaders have the greatest regard for each other, but in politics, there are no permanent friends or enemies.
Sharad Pawar called the BRS headed by KCR the B-team of the BJP. Now BRS President KCR is concentrating on Maharashtra to expand his party’s footprint. The BRS is inducting many political leaders in Maharashtra but it mainly targets the Congress and NCP leaders. This gave the impression to Sharad Pawar that the BRS is the B-team of the BJP.
When KCR met UPA leaders in the past for forming a Federal Front to fight the BJP it had given the same impression to some political parties. At the national level, the main opponent of the NDA led by the BJP is UPA headed by the Congress.
If any party is fighting the BJP it has to weaken that party but not its main adversary. KCR is targeting leaders from parties other than the BJP to induct them into his party.
Pawar thinks that the BRS may not win elections in Maharashtra but it could damage the prospects of the opposition parties by splitting anti-incumbency votes.
He thinks that this will help the BJP and that is why he called the BRS the B-team of the BJP.
KCR has great regard for Sharad Pawar as he supported the Telangana movement when most parties opposed it. In recent times also KCR met Sharad Pawar to discuss the infighting in the BJP.
After meeting Sharad Pawar at his residence in Mumbai recently, KCR said that Sharad Pawar had blessed him to continue his campaign against the BJP. But now the same Sharad Pawar has said that the BRS is the B-team of the BJP.
At the recent Nagpur meeting of the BRS, KCR said that the BRS will contest polls alone in Maharashtra.
