Most MLAs to have chance

The BRS list of candidates for the Assembly elections seems to be almost ready. Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has already said that sitting MLAs will be given a chance. With the boost received from Atmeeya Sammenalam and Decennial Celebrations, it is likely that the CM may give 80 to 90 per cent chance to all sitting MLAs.
But there is a chance of change in eight to 15 seats. KCR, who has already conducted constituency-wise surveys, has reportedly prepared the ground to announce his candidates ahead of all parties.
Sources indicated that KCR is heavily dependent on Intelligence reports and is making decisions based on it. Sources said that although many surveys have been conducted Intelligence reports hold the key.
But political analysts believe that relying entirely on Intelligence reports is not wise. However, the BRS is moving forward strategically to score a hat-trick win. They are preparing for the elections in a way unexpected by the opposition with a clear plan. There are speculations that KCR may announce candidates in July itself. In 2018, KCR released a list 105 candidates three months before the elections. There is fierce competition in the BRS for tickets to contest the next elections. Finalising tickets at the last minute can create rebels. If tickets are announced early some may switch parties and some may have to work for the party.
