The Supreme Court is set to hear the bail petition of BRS MLC Kavitha on Tuesday, following her arrest in connection with the Delhi liquor scam.
Kavitha has been in Tihar Jail from March 15 and has recently faced medical problems leading to her being transferred to the Delhi AIIMS for treatment before being returned to the jail. Senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi will be arguing for her and the BRS leadership remains optimistic that she will be granted bail this time especially as Manish Sisodia got bail.
BRS Working President KTR and MLA Harish Rao left for New Delhi along with some BRS MLAs and key leaders.
Kavitha, who was jailed in March, first experienced medical problems on July 16, prompting her transfer to the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital in Delhi for treatment.
She was presented in court via video conference two days later, where she brought her medical problems to the attention of Judge Kaveri Baweja.
The judge subsequently granted her permission to undergo medical tests at AIIMS Delhi. However, despite treatment, she has not fully recovered, and jail doctors have been providing medical care.

On August 22, Kavitha’s condition deteriorated once again, resulting in her transfer to AIIMS where medical tests were conducted in the presence of her husband, Anil.

She was brought back to the jail on the same day at around 2 pm. Kavitha has now spent approximately five and a half months in jail and has reportedly lost around 11 kg.
