BRS MLA T. Harish Rao demanded an allowance of Rs 15,000 for all auto-rickshaw drivers a month. Harish inaugurated the sports meet held under the auspices of the ‘Siddipet District Auto Credit Cooperative Society’ in Siddipet town.
Speaking on the occasion he said, “The Congress government has thrown auto-rick drivers on the road. The government should give them Rs 15,000 a month as living allowance.”
“Many auto-rick drivers have lost jobs.
The government should immediately support the six lakh auto-rick drivers in the state. The Mahalakshmi scheme is a good one but you must not cut someone else’s breadline to help others. We will fight till justice is done to autorickshaw drivers. We will raise their issues in the
Assembly and ask the government to help them,” Harish said.
“Conducting a sports competition under the auspices of the Siddipet District Auto Credit Cooperative Society is ideal. There are 1,480 autorickshaw drivers in this society.
Auto-rick drivers are the brand ambassadors of Siddipet. They escort guests
to their destinations respectfully,” he added.
