At a time when the BRS and the Congress are at war of words whether the leaders even know basics of agriculture, MLAs are participating in cropping along with farmers.

On Wednesday, MLAs Padmadevender Reddy and Ravi Shankar participated in cropping along with farmers. Earlier on Monday, Minister Srinivas Goud participated in planting saplings in Hanwada mandal of Mahabubnagar.

Last week, Minister KTR and Revanth Reddy were engaged in a war of words whether each of them knew anything about farming.

KTR said that Rahul Gandhi doesn’t know paddy or agriculture but only pubs and clubs. Reacting to this, Revanth Reddy asked a few questions related to agriculture and asked the Minister to answer.

Rahul Gandhi’s pictures of farming with Haryana farmers went viral.

Taking a cue, even other leaders are participating. Medak MLA Padma Devender Reddy in Chautlapalli village of Haveli Ghanpur mandal in the district, planted saplings along with women labourers and encouraged them.

The female workers sang a song and the MLA joined them for a while. Later, she inquired about the cultivation problems and whether electricity and fertilisers are being received on time.

The farm workers were shocked by the work of Padmadevender Reddy, who set aside the status of MLA and planted like one among them.

Choppadandi MLA Sunke Ravi Shankar became a farmer and spent time in farm work. On Wednesday, he went to the labourers who were planting in the fields in Lingampalli, Gangadhara mandal.

He also went to the farm and distributed fibre to the workers. While singing songs and thanking CM KCR, he congratulated the women who were tying knots.

The MLA expressed happiness for singing songs on government schemes and doing work. After talking to the women, they suggested that the Congress is discriminating against the farmers and should defeat Revanth Reddy, who is giving three hours of electricity. The farm labourers were happy to work together in the farm.
