BRS loses verified status on Twitter

The Telangana Rashtra Samiti, which has blue tick on Twitter, lost its verified status, after the handle was renamed Bharat Rashtra Samiti party on Wednesday. A handle loses verified status, once they change their Twitter ID. Consequently a lot of users have not yet got accustomed to the name change from TRS to BRS.

Sources in the party said that the verified status for the party handle would return in a couple of days. The party will take a call on the verification once Twitter clarifies its policy. BRS party tweeted, “As the name of Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS Party) has been changed to “Bharat Rashtra Samiti” (BRS Party), the Party’s Twitter handle has also been changed from @trspartyonline to @BRSparty BRS Party leaders, workers and people are requested to make a note of this change”.

The description of the handle now reads “Official Twitter handle of Bharat Rashtra Samithi. BRS Party, formerly known as TRS Party, is an Indian political party founded by Sri KCR.”
