BRS’ moves against Congress backfire

Must read

PNS|Hyderabad

A series of misfires have come from the BRS government against the Congress. Be it the 24-hour free electricity supply for farming, Revanth Reddy being labelled as the “Godse in Gandhi Bhavan” or even KCR’s grandson Himanshu’s CSR under the Mana Ooru Mana Badi scheme.

Political analysts say that these misfires have gone against the government as now even those who didn’t know about the 24-hour free electricity supply scheme have become aware of the reality.

For example, as Revanth Reddy said, now everyone knows that it was first introduced by the Congress through YS Rajashekar Reddy. Highly placed sources said that even the BRS high command has understood how the large-scale protests on 24-hour electricity supply have misfired.

Added to this is the challenge by Komatireddy Venkat Reddy showing a sub-station’s log book about 24-hour electricity supply which helped the Congress.

The “Godse in Gandhi Bhavan” and the “RSS Revanth” campaign by KTR himself proved to be another misfire.

The BJP seems to be a closed chapter and the new voters gained by the BJP in the last couple of years would now have to pick the BRS or the Congress.

A senior RSS and BJP leader said, “First the RSS is not an anti-social organisation like they are projecting. In villages, people know how disciplined the RSS cadres are as they go to sakas early in the morning. This campaign means nothing to the RSS. When it comes to the BJP, they are giving us free publicity even though our party is silent. Core BJP voters won’t change. But those who are half-hearted will have a close look at our ideology. KCR has potential as he does things for Hindus and temples. But if Revanth is an RSS guy then it will be divided.”

A senior political analyst said, “If the BJP-inclined voter knows their party cannot win, they will vote for the party that can make his enemy lose. That is the typical mindset of the voter. You either win or make your enemy lose. So if the BRS is the main opponent, they will pick Revanth and the RSS Revanth narrative is like the icing on the cake.”

If Congress leaders are happy about anything, it is for being able to unite the opposition vote instead of dividing it. Congress leaders point out that apart from the general Congress cadres there are TDP cadres too in Telangana and due to the RSS campaign even those with the BJP might side with us. Congress leaders can rest assured that minority votes won’t be affected by this campaign.

Meanwhile, although Himanshu Kalvakuntla got a good name for adopting a government school, his comments on the school’s pathetic conditions exposed the alleged misrule of the BRS government led by his grandfather KCR in which his father KTR is a Cabinet Minister.

A senior political analyst said, “The BRS just has to hope that the Murphy’s Law which says that anything that can go wrong will go wrong would not apply to the BRS.”
