BRS MPs said that the suspension of Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh from the Rajya Sabha was against democratic principles.

BRS MPs Ranjith Reddy, Nama Nageshwar Rao, Santhosh Kumar, Badugula Lingaya Yadav and Vaddiraju Ravichandra participated in the protest held on Parliament premises on Tuesday.

Sanjay Singh had only exercised his right as an MP by asking Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make an immediate statement in Parliament on the Manipur riots which has shocked people all over the world.

During the protest, MP Ranjith Reddy said that it is sad that Prime Minister Modi is silent while riots are going on in Manipur for months, leading to civilian deaths and ethnic clashes.

It is absurd that the Centre cannot tolerate opposition parties raising questions in Parliament on this matter. That is why the Centre has chosen to suspend AAP MP Sanjay Singh, he said.

He said that this should be strongly condemned by everyone.

MP Ranjith Reddy demanded that Prime Minister Modi should immediately allow a discussion in Parliament on the Manipur riots and end the undemocratic suspension of MP Sanjay Singh.

Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPs led by BRS parliamentary party leader Keshav Rao and Lok Sabha leader Nama Nageswara Rao took part in the protest held at the Mahatma Gandhi Statue. Nama strongly condemned the suspension of Sanjay Singh and demanded that the Centre should end his suspension immediately.
