Minister for Roads and Buildigns Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has made it clear that the government is keen on completing the Srisailam hill tunnel work and Dindi irrigation projects as early as possible. Addressing media at the local MLA’s camp office here on Sunday after taking part in a string of developmental activities, the Minister said that integrated residential schools and colleges would be built on a 25 acre land in all Assembly constituencies. He announced sanction of Rs 14 crore for development of a road from Dindi X roads to Mynampalli and another Rs 40 crore for undertaking repairs to roads. He said that the government urged Union Surface Transport Minister and Prime Minister for converting the road from Nalgonda to Kollapur via Mallepalli, Devarakonda and Kalwakurthy into a national highway. The people of Mahabubnagar and Nalgonda would not have experienced drought-like conditions at all had the previous regime allocated Rs 3,000 crore for SLBC and Dindi Irrigation project, he felt. The Minister hinted at completing the Srisailam tunnel boring and Dindi Projects unmindful of the costs incurred, even if the costs run into several thousands of crores.
