BRS not taking seriously its first defeat in Maharashtra

Must read

The BRS is not taking seriously its defeat in Maharashtra in the agricultural market committee elections held two days ago.

The BRS had fielded candidates for all 18 director posts in the election held for the Bhokar Agricultural Market Committee of Nanded district which was also its first electoral attempt in Maharashtra.

Several farmers and farmer union leaders from Maharashtra had joined the BRS recently. The BRS held its first public meeting in Maharashtra in Nanded. The farmers of Maharashtra were attracted by the farmer-oriented schemes of the Telangana BRS government.

Keeping this in view, the BRS had fielded candidates for all 18 director posts in the Bhokar Agricultural Market Committee elections. But the BRS was not able to open its account. In spite of this, many farmers and others are joining the BRS every day.

BRS leaders are not taking seriously the defeat in the market committee elections. “The political career of BRS President K. Chandrasekhar Rao started with a defeat.” They said.

In the 1983 Assembly elections in united Andhra Pradesh, KCR contested from the Siddipet Assembly constituency and was defeated. But in the second attempt, KCR was elected as an MLA from Siddipet and after that, he was defeated in a by-election.

Interestingly, in Siddipet in 1983, the Congress candidate defeated KCR. In the Bhokar Market Committee elections also in Maharashtra, the Congress won.

BRS leaders are saying that their main goal is to win a significant number of seats in the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra. They say that even though the BRS has been defeated in the market committee elections it helped the party to grab the attention of the public.
