‘BRS propaganda is an attempt to block progress’

IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu said that under the Congress government, not only Hyderabad but the entire state is witnessing development in all sectors.
The baseless propaganda by the BRS against the government is a deliberate attempt to hinder this progress. BRS leaders are trying to frame the Congress Government and divert public attention, he said.
“Are elephants found in the middle of a city? Using Artificial Intelligence, they falsely portrayed the presence of peacocks and other animals in urban areas. A deer spotted in front of a house in Visakhapatnam was misrepresented as coming from the Hyderabad Central University area. The Supreme Court has declared the 400 acres in Kanche Gachibowli as government land,” Sridhar said.
Addressing the media at the Gandhi Bhavan on Saturday, he said that BRS and BJP leaders are spreading lies to prevent companies from coming to Telangana, and they are denying employment to our youth. This kind of smear campaign against the government is unacceptable, he said.
“KTR’s claim that land worth Rs 5,200 crore was shown as costing Rs 30,000 crore is completely false. As a former minister, he should be well aware of the facts before making such allegations. We raised Rs 10,000 crore through bonds in full compliance with the norms of the RBI, the SEBI, and other regulatory bodies. We did not take any loan from ICICI Bank. It only acted as a merchant banker. If KTR alleges a Rs 10,000 crore scam, why has he not provided any evidence to support his claims? 37 institutions have purchased TGIIC bonds, all of which are in the public domain,” he said.
Sridhar said that a company, fully authorised by the SEBI, facilitated the bond transaction. “From the bond proceeds, Rs 2,100 crore was allocated for waiving farm loans. Is it wrong to prioritize farmers’ welfare? We secured funds at an interest rate of 9.3%, whereas the BRS government borrowed at 10.9%. This disparity led to financial mismanagement. During BRS rule, government lands were arbitrarily handed over to favoured individuals. Land measuring 150 to 200 acres were sold,” he said.
