In reaction to Agriculture Minister Thummala Nageswara Rao’s announcement regarding investment support under Rythu Bharosa scheme, the BRS party organised a protest in Medak under the leadership of former MLA Padma Devender Reddy. The BRs activists burnt an effigy of the Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
Speaking on the occasion, Padma Devender Reddy alleged that the Congress government is adopting anti-farmer policies. She demanded immediate payment investment support at the rate of Rs 7,500 per acre during the current Vanakalam (Kharif) season.
She accused the Congress party of deceiving farmers with false promises that were impossible to be fulfilled. Without providing any investment support of Rs 7,500 per acre, the government has reduced the farmers to tears. BRS president K Chandrashekar Rao’s warning that the Congress, if elected to power, would put an end to investment support to farmers came true, she said.
Former Municipal Chairman Batty Jagapati, former ZP Vice Chairperson A Lavanya Reddy, city party convener Mamilla Anjaneyulu, co-conveners Krishna Goud, Lingareddy, Juber Ahmad, Municipal Councilors Jayaraj, R.K. Srinivas, Viswam and others were present.
