BRS Working President KT Rama Rao on Monday gave a call to party leaders, cadres, and citizens to celebrate Telangana Formation Day on June 2 with grandeur.
He said the party, which led the movement for statehood under the leadership of K. Chandrasekhar Rao, will commemorate the occasion in every village, mandal, municipality, constituency, and at all district BRS offices.
In a statement released from Telangana Bhavan, KTR said the celebrations at the BRS headquarters will begin with the hoisting of the national flag and the party flag by founding member and Legislative Council Opposition Leader Madhu Sudhan Chary. Senior leaders, public representatives, and cadres have been urged to take part in large numbers.
“Telangana was achieved through 14 years of relentless struggle. The sacrifices of martyrs, efforts of government employees, students and all sections of society led to the realisation of a six-decade-old dream,” KTR said.
He asked BRS units in all constituencies to conduct simultaneous celebrations by hoisting both the national and BRS flags and organising events that reflect the spirit of the movement. “From district offices to remote mandals, Telangana’s journey must be honoured,” he added.
Highlighting Telangana’s achievements during BRS rule, KTR said, “The first decade of Telangana’s governance under KCR stood as a role model for the entire country. Landmark schemes like Rythu Bandhu, Mission Kakatiya, and Mission Bhagiratha originated here and have become national benchmarks.”
KTR said that Chandrasekhar Rao’s governance ideas influenced not just other state governments but also the Centre. “The Telangana Model showed how good governance can emerge from regional hopes. It is a matter of pride for every Telangana resident,” he said.
