The Assembly election heat is gradually building up and the BRS is likely to get into election mode in September.
BRS leaders are now mostly confined to their constituencies as they have been repeatedly told not to be in Hyderabad and to work seriously in their constituencies. Inaugurals and laying foundation stones for development projects are being expedited.
Sources indicate that social welfare and government-related activities are likely to be stopped by August-end.
A senior BRS leader said, “We are definitely racing against time. Prime Minister Modi himself sounded the poll bugle by saying ‘Ab ki Baar BJP Sarkar.’
Things are definitely gaining momentum and some important files are being cleared quickly. Moreover, our candidates will have more time than those of the opposition who don’t even have candidates in all Assembly seats.”
The Telangana Assembly election is scheduled to be held around December 2023 to elect 119 members to the state’s Legislative Assembly.
Hoping to form a new government by the end of this year, the BRS is focusing on campaign based on development and social welfare schemes.
It is taking all measures to come to power a third time.
Social welfare schemes like Dalit Bandhu, Gruha Lakshmi, Podu Lands, Rs 1 lakh assistance as per the BC Bandhu scheme were recently launched. BRS sources do not deny that the identification of beneficiaries and crediting money to them may not be completed by August.
When Industries Minister KT Rama Rao was recently asked about the some candidates being announced as early as July, he didn’t deny it.
Chief Minister KCR has already undertaken district tours many times.
Recently he visited Nagarkurnool, Mancherial, Nirmal and Gadwal districts and inaugurated offices of the Collector, SP and the BRS district office.
