BRS Working President KT Rama Rao said that whether in power or not, he and his party would continue to work for Telangana’s development and to attract investments to the state.

Speaking to a delegation of UK-based Telugu entrepreneurs and representatives of the United Kingdom Telugu Business Council in London on Wednesday, KTR reiterated his commitment to the state, calling it his “motherland” and asserting that no one could match the love and passion he had for Telangana.

During the interaction, the delegation raised concerns over the present business climate in Telangana, citing growing administrative hurdles and an unfriendly approach by the Congress government.

KTR assured them that despite the political change, the spirit of Telangana’s industrial progress would be kept alive.

He reminded the gathering that during BRS rule, global corporate giants like Apple, Google, Microsoft and Adobe had chosen Telangana as their destination, thanks to the proactive industrial policies and transparent governance introduced by the K. Chandrasekhar Rao administration.

He said that Telangana had emerged as the preferred destination for investors under the BRS and had become a national leader in attracting foreign and domestic capital due to industry-friendly reforms and facilitation models like the TS-iPASS.

KTR also urged the entrepreneurs to continue supporting Telangana and to help those interested in investing in the state. “Extend cooperation to whoever wishes to invest in Telangana. Be brand ambassadors for the state’s progress,” he said.

BRS Working President KT Rama Rao expressed satisfaction after NITI Aayog recognised the TS-iPASS (Telangana State Industrial Project Approval and Self-Certification System) as one of the finest policy innovations in India.

The framework, which was introduced by the BRS government to simplify industrial clearances, was credited with attracting tens of thousands of crores in investments and transforming the state’s business climate.

In a post on X on Wednesday, KTR said, “At the heart of every policy decision of the BRS government was public welfare. Right from inception, TS-iPASS received appreciation from everyone who understands good governance.”

He added that the recognition by NITI Aayog was a “humbling feeling” and a validation of the state’s bold approach to governance.

KTR noted that under this initiative, 27,424 industries were established, bringing in investments worth Rs 2,99,974.04 crore into the state.

“We welcomed growth with open arms and removed any hurdle in the way of development,” KTR said, acknowledging the team that worked closely with him to implement the policy and monitor its outcomes.

“A huge congratulations to my team who travelled with me in revolutionising the way things get done in government offices,” he added.

KTR reiterated his longstanding belief that governments should play the role of facilitators rather than gatekeepers.

“We always believed in minimising government and maximising governance,” he remarked, a phrase that defined much of the BRS administration’s approach to industrial and economic policy.
