Former Minister and Suryapet MLA G Jagadish Reddy on Saturday exuded confidence that his party would emerge victorious in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. He expressed the hope that the Telangana society would be ready to correct the mistake committed in the recent elections. As per the party’s decision to hold constituency-wise meetings from Saturday given the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, a meeting was organised in the Nalgonda Assembly constituency on Saturday.
He alleged that the ruling party leaders were threatening to attack farmers with slippers if they demanded that the government fulfil its promises. He demanded that the Congress government fulfil its promise of a farm loan waiver up to Rs 2 lakh without any delay.
He recalled that he had dared the government to order a judicial inquiry into the allegation related to the Damaracharla power plant. “In a democracy, power is not permanent,” he said. Before the formation of Telangana, the then Chief Ministers Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and N Chandrababu Naidu were diverting Krishna waters illegally to Andhra Pradesh.
He accused Congress and the BJP of entering into an unholy alliance. He said the BJP’s alliance with the Congress had started from Suryapet. The Congress and the BJP allied at the state and national levels. The BRS cannot to be cowed down by Congress threats, Jagadish Reddy said.
