Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLC K Kavitha on Friday demanded that the Congress announce its chief Ministerial candidate. “As far as BRS is concerned, K Chandrashekar Rao is our Chief Minister,” she pointed out. She expressed confidence that the BRS would win 100 seats.

Speaking at the BRS activists’ meeting here, Kavitha asked the people to choose between a party that has waived farm loans for the second time since 2014 and that has been providing round-the-clock free power to the farm sector and the party which advocated only a 3-hour power supply to farmers. She said BJP wanted to fix meters to agricultural pump sets.

Continuing her tirade against the opposition parties, she pointed out that the BJP government at the Centre had written off Rs 15 lakh crore corporate loans in the name of non-performing assets. But it never considered waiving farm loans. The BJP government at the Centre failed to extend even Re 1 financial assistance to the State government to help the latter waive the farm loans. Still, the BRS government under the leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao waived the farm loans.

Kavitha appealed to the people to bless sitting MLA A Jeevan Reddy and ensure that he wins by 60,000 majority. She was confident of the victory of Jeevan Reddy for the third consecutive term.

The government created the Armoor Revenue Division. The government implemented every promise it made, she observed.

The Congress party, she said, has been talking big. Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president A Revanth Reddy advocated that a three-hour power supply was sufficient for the farm sector. She recalled that the BJP government at the Centre had brought three black farm laws. “The BJP is never a friend of us,” she said.

“KCR is our Chief Minister. The people gave our party 63 seats in 2914 and 88 seats in the last elections. This time, the people will BRS party 100 seats,” she said.

She praised the sitting MLA Jeevan Reddy for his role in the Telangana movement. He went on fast for nine days in support of farmers. He even blocked the Nizamabad highway by burning tyres when Congress leaders Lagadapati Rajgopal and Pranab Mukherjee were on their Nizamabad to attend the celebrations organised on the occasion of the birthday of Congress leader D Srinivas, she recalled. She appealed to vote for Jeevan Reddy who always worked for the welfare of people.
