State Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy, accompanied by a team of officials, is set to embark on a 10-day tour to South Korea and Vietnam. The primary objective of this foreign visit, led by FM Buggana Rajendranath Reddy, is to attract increased investments to Andhra Pradesh. The delegation has meticulously planned visits to South Korea and Vietnam as part of their itinerary.
Minister Buggana emphasised the importance of conducting a study on technical and vocational education skill development matters.
As a precursor to the foreign trip, Minister Buggana and the officials have already arrived in Delhi to engage potential investors in the textile, industries, tourism, and aqua sectors.
Notably, a special review meeting was held on the 10th of this month under the chairmanship of Minister Buggana, which included the participation of relevant department secretaries and country ambassadors. The meeting took place at Delhi’s Vigyan Bhavan to review the prior arrangements made for the visit.
On Saturday, a team of officials led by the Finance Minister departed from Hyderabad and Vijayawada, arriving in Delhi. They are scheduled to arrive in Korea on Sunday morning.
During their visit, FM Buggana and the delegation will visit the Kia plant in South Korea, aiming to explore possibilities for further expansion of the Kia unit in Andhra Pradesh. Additionally, they will visit the Korean Institute of Maritime and Fisheries Technologies, Samsung, and Daesang Corporation. In Vietnam, the team will visit the South Economic Zone.
Minister Buggana underlined their focus on sectors such as aqua, textiles, electronics, automobile, and skill development. A meeting with representatives of Vietnam was held during the Global Investment Summit in Visakhapatnam in March, paving the way for further discussions on investment opportunities. This upcoming visit will serve as a continuation of those discussions, including meetings with industrialists.
The delegation will also visit Samsung, Nongshim Co. Ltd, Kia Plant (Hwasong), Korea Textile Development Institute (KTDI), Ocean and Fisheries HRD Institute, Korea Institute of Maritime and Fisheries Technology in Busan, Ministry of Labor, Disabled and Social Affairs, Vietnam German TVET Programme Centres, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, HA NOI Industrial Textiles, Aquaculture Park, Saigon Industrial Park, and Tantuan Industrial Park.
The delegation comprises Minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy, Special Chief Secretary of Finance Department SS Rawat, Principal Secretary of Handloom Textiles Department K Sunitha, Principal Secretary of Skill and Training Department Suresh Kumar, Skill Development MD Vinod Kumar, and two other participants.
