Backward Classes Students’ Association leaders, along with parents, visited the Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Residential School for Girls and interacted with the students there to gain first-hand knowledge of the students’ problems.
Later addressing a gathering, Association district unit president Aitagoni Janardhan Goud said that the BRS government started residential schools in name only. Neither the Minister for Welfare nor the Chief Secretary reviewed the functioning of the schools, he said.
He alleged that the government failed to address the students’ problems and demanded that the government build buildings for residential schools immediately if the government is sincere about the welfare of the students.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, who built a new Secretariat in place of the old secretariat due to bad Vastu, failed to pay attention to resolving the problems of residential schools in the past nine years.
He alleged that the residential schools have been located at distant places away from district headquarters in buildings where there were no minimum amenities.
