A tragic incident unfolded in Hyderabad on Wednesday as a businessman from Metpally committed suicide due to alleged cheating by one of his employees. Sabbani Naresh ended his life by hanging himself, leaving behind a selfie video where he explained the reasons for the drastic decision.
Naresh owned a two-wheeler showroom in Kathalapur mandal headquarters, and had employed a person named Pratap for several years. The showroom also operated lucky draw schemes for customers. In his selfie video, Naresh accused Pratap of being responsible for collecting money from customers but that he denied bikes to the winners of the draw.
According to the video of Naresh, Pratap had collected a staggering amount of Rs 1.90 crore from customers, but Naresh had no knowledge of how many customers had actually received the bikes they had won. As the transactions were conducted solely in Pratap’s name, including the presence of bank accounts, Naresh found himself in a difficult situation.
In addition to the alleged cheating, Pratap had spread false rumours about Naresh, claiming that he had incurred debts and was planning to file for insolvency. Pratap had promised to meet a lawyer within four days to settle the accounts, but he failed to do so even after a month.
Due to the false propaganda spread by Pratap, Naresh felt unable to visit his native place. Feeling trapped and distressed by the circumstances, he made the tragic decision to end his life. A case has been booked and it is being investigated.
