The much-awaited expansion of the Telangana Cabinet likely to take place on Sunday. The Congress high command gave the green signal regarding this on Saturday.
The General Administration Department (GAD) is making arrangements regarding this at the Raj Bhavan.
The official announcement on persons who got berths may come on Sunday morning or tonight. The Congress high command gave the green signal to fill four berths. However, the high command gave chances to one OC, one BC and two SC MLAs. However, clarity will come only on Sunday morning.
The MLAs who are going to take the oath to be Vakiti Srihari are, (BC-Mudiraj), G. Vivek (SC-Mala), and Kavvampally Sathyanarayana (SC-Madiga) and P. Sudarshan Reddy. The rumours spread that two existing Cabinet ministers would lose their posts.
The Governor, who went to New Delhi on Friday, came to Hyderabad at midnight.
On the other hand, leaders like Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy, Malreddy Ranga Reddy, Vakiti Srihari, Vivek and Balu Naik went to New Delhi to make last minute efforts to get a place in the cabinet expansion, it is learnt.
CM assures Cabinet berth for Madiga MLAs
The efforts of Madiga MLAs are yielding results, as the Chief Minister had assured them that an MLA will be given a Cabinet berth and said that Madiga MLAs should be available.
The CM gave this assurance when Madiga MLAs met him on Saturday at his residence. Rumours spread that Manakondur MLA Kavvampally Sathyanarayana got a place in the Cabinet expansion.
Madiga MLAs Adluri Laxman, Kavvampally Sathyanarayana, Mandula Samuel, Vemula Veeresham and Kale Yadaiah met Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and requested him to give a chance to Madiga MLAs during the Cabinet expansion.
However, it is learnt that three or four MLAs will get a chance in the Cabinet expansion. Sources said a BC, an SC and a Reddy will get a chance during the Cabinet expansion on Sunday.
