‘Cadre upset with ‘meagre’ 24 seats allotted to JSP’

Criticising the allocation of 24 MLA seats to the Jana Sena Party (JSP), former MP and Kapu Sankshema Sena President Ch Hari Ramajogaiah expressed dissatisfaction, questioning the party’s perceived strength in contesting only 24 seats.
In an open letter released here on Sunday, Hari Ramajogaiah highlighted that out of the 118 seats announced by both parties on Saturday, 24 seats were allotted to leaders from the Kamma community, 17 seats to Reddy candidates, 15 seats to Kapu representatives, and 25 seats to BCs (Backward Classes).
Ramajogaiah stressed that the allocation should have been proportionate to the population ratio, suggesting that 50% of seats should have been given to BC candidates, 25% to Kapu candidates, 4% to Kamma candidates, and 6% to Reddy candidates, based on demographic statistics.
“Upon what criteria were 24 seats granted to the JSP? Why did the TDP allocate seats to the JSP without reciprocation?” he queried.
Ramajogaiah also doubted the JSP’s ability to win more than 24 seats, claiming that JSP leaders had identified 40 to 50 constituencies as their strongholds.
“I fail to comprehend why Pawan Kalyan accepted only 24 seats and backed the TDP. The Kapu community aspires to see Pawan Kalyan as the Chief Minister of the state. He should hold the position for at least two and a half years,” he remarked.
The former MP emphasized that without significant vote transfer, the TDP cannot secure power. He maintained that the JSP cadre was disheartened by allocating only 24 MLA seats.
