Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Mayor Vijayalakshmi asked zonal commissioners to complete pending works in Nallakunta within 10 days.
In a virtual meeting, Vijayalakshmi has issued instructions to the zonal commissioners to complete the Strategic Nala Development Programme (SNDP) during the monsoon season. She instructed the officers in Nallakunta Padma Colony, where a wall of Musi has collapsed and ordered to complete the unfinished works within 10 days. Action should be taken to prevent recurrence of such incidents, she said.
The Nala flows through Padma Colony, Vegetable Market, Old Rama temple, Fever Hospital and the retaining wall constructed at Padma Colony from Nagamaiah Kunta is damaged by floods every year. The Mayor directed the authorities to complete the reconstruction of this damaged wall after de-silting. Appropriate measures should be taken so that people do not face any problem due to untimely rains.
The zonal commissioner explained that works are in progress in Nallakunta Padma Colony. The wall is 190 meters long at Padma Colony Gurudatta School, 71 meters of which has been completed and 119 meters of work is in progress. Secondly, 370 meters of the 690 meters wide canal from Heritage to Leprosy Hospital has been completed and 320 meters is in progress.
