BRS issued a statement saying that police cases were filed against BRS leaders by Revanth Reddy’s government. The BRS statement said, “The Congress government has filed cases against BRS leaders who protested against the government’s attempts to remove the Kakatiya Kala Thoranam and Charminar symbols from the Telangana official logo.”
Charminar police filed cases under Section 188 against BRS leaders KT Rama Rao, Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Padma Rao Goud, Maganti Gopinath and others for protesting at Charminar.
The police registered cases against BRS leaders, including former MP Boyinapalli Vinod Kumar, MLC Baswaraju Saraiah, former MLAs Vinay Bhaskar, Nannapaneni Narendra, Peddi Sudarshan Reddy, Hanmakonda ZP Chairman Sudhir Kumar, Khammam-Warangal-Nalgonda Graduates MLC candidate Rakesh Reddy and former KUDA chairman Yadav Reddy, for holding a media conference and protesting at the Warangal fort.
Additionally, “We are not afraid of such petty cases,” the BRS leaders stated, adding that they will not remain silent if there are attempts to disrupt Telangana’s culture, identity and heritage.
