Cellulitis scare escalates in undivided Karimnagar dist

Apart from seasonal diseases, the surge in cellulitis cases in undivided Karimnagar district has caused fear and alarm among people. The symptoms include rashes on the skin. But these rashes further progress into bruises and pose problems to patients. During the past one month, hundreds of patients suffering from cellulitis are being treated in hospitals. It is primarily a bacterial infection, but as it progresses it becomes hazardous, cautioned doctors. It shows a significant impact on the skin on the legs.
Doctors advise the patients of the skin disease to immediately undergo treatment as and when the symptoms surface.
The area where the cellulitis occurs on the skin, the patient suffers from itching. The itching spreads to adjacent places. The patient feels pain in the area. They also develop fever and some patients develop chills. The patient experiences swelling in the area
where the disease occurred on the skin. The blisters appear on the skin where the cellulitis appears. In some patients, skin shows the signs of developing depressions and skin becomes loose. Cellulitis is an infection of the deeper layers of the skin most commonly caused by bacteria that normally live on the skin’s surface.
One has an increased risk of developing cellulitis if he or she has an injury, such as a cut, fracture, burn or scrape. The symptoms include fever with chills and sweating, fatigue, pain or tenderness in the affected area, skin redness or inflammation that gets bigger as the infection spreads, skin sore or rash that starts suddenly, and grows quickly in the first 24 hours.
