Central official happy with progress of housing scheme

Sailesh Kumar, Director of Rural Housing, Union Ministry of Rural Development held a meeting with the concerned officials on PMAY-GRAMIN at the Andhra Pradesh State Housing Corporation office in Vijayawada on Monday. Sailesh Kumar expressed his satisfaction with the way the housing scheme under ‘Navaratnalu – Pedalandariki Illu’ is in progress.

The officials gave a PowerPoint presentation on the progress of the construction of the house across the state house site pattas, free construction materials like sand, and cement at subside rate, other materials at very low cost, and low-interest rate loans for house construction. They also briefed that the government has given land for the construction of houses free to the poor beneficiaries.

The Director, Rural Housing enquired about the performance of village/ward secretariats’ role in the house construction scheme with Lakshmi Sha MD, APSHCL.

He told the Housing department officials to take all measures to complete the house construction under the PMAY-GRAMIN scheme on time. He said that all permissions will be accorded once a proposal is sent from the State government, he added.

Lakshmi Sha MD, APSHCL said that houses for the poor across the State are being monitored by them continuously and the state CM Jagan Mohan Reddy was monitoring the construction activity time and again. The special CS Ajay Jain will review the construction activity every day with the concerned officials, he said and explained that Village secretariat engineering assistants and other staff are extending their services in the house construction scheme.

Later Sailesh Kumar, Director, of Rural Housing, along with housing officials visited Pangidigudem village of Dwaraka Tirumala block in Eluru district and inspected the construction of the house under PMAY-GRAMIN and expressed satisfaction.
