The Central government has approved an additional assistance National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) assistance of Rs 231.75 crore for Telangana, as part of a broader allocation of Rs 1,554.99 crore to five states.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah sanctioned the funds on Wednesday, ensuring financial support for disaster management and relief measures.
The additional NDRF assistance is being provided over and above the funds previously released to these states last year. Apart from Telangana, the largest share of Rs 608.08 crore has been allocated to Andhra Pradesh, followed by Tripura with Rs. 288.93 crore, Odisha with Rs. 255.24 crore, and Nagaland with Rs. 170.99 crore. The Union Home Ministry issued formal orders confirming the disbursement of these funds to the respective states.
The additional allocation is expected to bolster disaster preparedness and relief measures in Telangana, ensuring the state is better equipped to handle natural calamities and emergencies.
