‘Centre committed to AP’s progress’

BJP State president and MP Daggubati Purandeswari welcomed the budgetary allocations to Andhra Pradesh and thanked the Union Finance Minister.
She reiterated that the BJP-led Central government is committed to the development of Andhra Pradesh, highlighting the allocations to the State in the budget presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
Speaking to the media in New Delhi, Purandeswari noted that the Finance Minister allocated funds for the development of backward districts, including a substantial Rs 15,000 crore for the construction of the capital city.
She mentioned that Rs 269 crore was allocated for the development of Rajahmundry railway station by the railway minister.
The Centre has recognized four Rayalaseema districts and three north Andhra districts as backward and assured the allocation of funds, the BJP MP emphasised. She expressed satisfaction with the allocations to the state in the Union Budget.
