The Centre gave a donkey’s egg in its budget for Telangana, TPCC Chief B. Mahesh Kumar Goud said.
Congratulating Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on behalf of the TPCC for presenting the Union Budget for the 8th time in a row, Mahesh said that even though she is a Telugu daughter-in-law, Nirmalamma did not show any consideration for Telangana. There is nothing but injustice for Telangana in the Budget, he said.
He said that the Budget is nothing but a Bihar election budget. Bihar was given attention only because of elections, he said.
He said that the BJP discriminated against Telangana and wanted to damage it politically.
The Centre, which presented a budget of Rs 50.65 lakh crore, did not make even a single special allocation for Telangana. With Assembly elections approaching in Bihar, the BJP is using the Central budget for politicking, he pointed out.
The budget which uses money collected from all over the country should treat everyone equally, he said.
In her budget speech, Nirmalamma used the words ‘Gurajada Apparao’ meaning that the country is not its territory, but it is the people. Aren’t the people of Telangana not people of this country, he asked.
He also asked what happened to the promises made by the Prime Minister and BJP leaders during the TG elections.
Mahesh said that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, ministers and MPs had met Union Ministers and the Prime Minister and had appealed to them to come to Telangana to study many issues.
He said that railway projects, bifurcation guarantees, national project tag for the Palamuru-Rangareddy irrigation project, ITIR, Bayyaram steel factory, railway coach factory, IIM and many other projects are pending.
The Centre is collecting around Rs 40,000 crore as GST from the state, he said and added that Telangana should get matching funds from the Centre, he said. It is unfair for the BJP to discriminate against the Congress government in Telangana, he said.
