Centre has no moral right to speak on Kanche Gachibowli land: Jupally

The BJP destroyed 16 lakh acres of forests in the last 10 years and has no moral right to speak on the 400 acres in Kanche Gachibowli, Tourism and Culture and Excise and Prohibition Minister Jupally Krishna Rao said.
“The Centre had ‘given away’ government assets and public sector undertakings to private companies, and now the same BJP leaders are trying to ‘block’ development in Telangana. Does

the ruling BJP, which has destroyed 16 lakh acres of forests in the last 10 years, have any moral right to speak on the 400 acres of greenery in Kancha Gachibowli?” Jupally said.
Addressing the media at the Gandhi Bhavan on Wednesday, Jupally said that the 400 acres in Kanche Gachibowli do not belong to Hyderabad Central University, and not a single inch of land was taken from the HCU.

Jupally was furious that the opposition is trying to spoil the image of the Congress government for political gains. He said the opposition was using students as pawns and advised students not to fall into their trap.

Jupally asked why the BRS government had been silent on Kanche Gachibowli lands, which have been the subject of a legal dispute for 20 years, and why no attempts were made to save them then.

He said that they had acted in a way that would have enabled private individuals to acquire those lands, and that is why they did not speak out in the past.

Jupally said that people know who are involved and who the masterminds are. He said the government led by Revanth Reddy fought in courts instead of giving away the Kanche Gachibowli lands to private individuals, and it was this that made courts give the lands to the government.

At that time, the BJP and the BRS did not mind the 400 acres going to a private company, but now they are protesting when those lands have been given to the government, he said.
