BRS President Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao said that he was confident of the BRS staging a hat-trick victory and that he has no doubts about it. This time the party will get five to six more seats, KCR said and added that the BRS will win all the 12 seats in the erstwhile Nalgonda district.
Addressing the Pragathi Nivedhana public meeting held at the Suryapet district headquarters on Sunday, KCR said that the BRS government is increasing social welfare schemes step by step.
The leader of another party wanted to install meters on agricultural pumps and another leader said three hours of power supply is enough. Already power cuts have started in Karnataka where the Congress won elections recently, KCR pointed out.
He said that Telangana is number one in per capita income across the nation and that it had reached an optimum stage in development.
KCR said that trucks were not sufficient to transport the paddy produced by Telangana farmers. He asked people to compare the Congress party’s Apathbandhu scheme and the BRS’ Rythu Bima scheme. Rythu Bandhu scheme money is being deposited in farmers’ bank accounts without any intervention by middlemen. But the Congress is stating that it will scrap the Dharani Portal if it comes to power. How can farmers get Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bima money if Dharani Portal is scrapped, KCR asked. “Can anyone change a farmer’s name once it is registered on the Dharani Portal? We introduced the Dharani Portal to complete the registration process within 15 minutes in all mandal headquarters. People must use their vote weapon after thorough thought,” KCR said.
Before ending his speech, the CM asked the audience to reveal whether they wanted the Dharani Portal or not.
KCR said that new beggars will say many magic words when elections come. He appealed to the people not to get confused by them and not to believe in their fraudulent words.
The Congress and the BJP have been asking people to give them a chance. What did the Congress do although the people gave them a chance for 50 years? The CM said that if the BRS comes to power in the state, the middleman era will begin in government offices.
He said that several Congress leaders from the erstwhile Nalgonda district became Ministers but did they develop Suryapet? Did they think of establishing medical colleges in Suryapet, Bhongir and Nalgonda? How were Nalgonda and Suryapet earlier and now? Have Congress leaders ever thought of solving the problems of farmers, KCR asked.
Attacking the Congress over its promise to pay Rs 4,000 as pension if elected to power in the state, KCR asked why such a scheme is not being implemented in states ruled by the party.
“The Congress, which ruled for 50 years, used to give only Rs 200 as social pension. Now they say, ‘Give us a chance, we will make it Rs 4,000,’ KCR said.
“Are they giving it in Chhattisgarh which is being ruled by them? Are they giving it in Karnataka? Are they giving it in Rajasthan? Is there a separate policy for each state?” he asked.
KCR said that he will certainly increase pensions. “I will tell very soon by how much the amount will be increased,” KCR said.
“We ended the VRO system as they troubled farmers like monsters by changing details of the 0lands owned by farmers. Even the CM has no power to change land details once it is registered on the Dharani Portal. We introduced the Dharani Portal which provides the power to protect lands with their thumb. A Congress leader, who had launched a padayatra in Suryapet recently did not see the Kaleshwaram waters. The face of the state will change if the construction of the Yadadri power plant, which was launched in Miryalaguda constituency at a cost of Rs 30,000 crore, is over. Telangana is producing three crore tonnes of paddy. We will fill the Baswapuram reservoir with Kaleshwaram Project waters,” he said.
Meanwhile, the CM announced many sops for Suryapet district. He said, “Making Suryapet a district is itself history. I am sanctioning Rs 10 lakh to each gram panchayat of Suryapet district. I am sanctioning Rs 50 crore to Suryapet municipality, and Rs 25 crore each to the four municipalities of the district. We will construct a Kala Bhavan with Rs 25 crore in Suryapet. I am directing R&B Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy to construct an R&B guest house in Suryapet. I will give a GO to the Sports School for Suryapet tomorrow.”
Earlier in the day, the CM inaugurated the Suryapet District Collectorate building, Integrated Agriculture Market, District SP Office, Medical College and the BRS district office.
