To curb duplication of Intermediate topper list from one institution to the other being utilised in advertisements, an internal special committee was formed.
The members include officials from Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE), confirmed Collegiate Education and Technical Education Commissioner Navin Mittal. They will approve the advertisements of institutes by cross-checking the code number of the college and the hall ticket number of students.
“This decision came to limelight when we were holding meetings internally on issue of recent suicides,” Navin Mittal said.
“When we came out post the meeting of suicide on how to ease out pressure, one of the issues that came out was there were a lot of misdirecting advertisements which are creating unhealthy competition. Same student is being claimed by two or three managements. Sometimes, a Warangal student is being represented in Hyderabad. While being scrutinised if something is found then the private colleges have to pay equal amounts spent on advertisements as fine. The institutes must submit the advertisement for approval before publishing.”
On asked in regard to the digital evaluation of Intermediate answer scripts, he said more or less a decision was taken by Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy to implement digital evaluation for supplementary examinations but she will take the decision in the next couple of days.
