Chegondi for half term of CM for Pawan if TDP-JSP romps home

Must read

Former MP and president of Kapu Sankshema Sena, Chegondi Hari Ramajogaiah, has proposed that TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu should publicly announce Pawan Kalyan as the Chief Minister for two-and-a-half years, should the TDP-JSP alliance secure victory in the upcoming elections.
In an open letter released on Monday,  Hari Ramajogaiah expressed concerns about the seat allocation for Jana Sena Party (JSP), citing conflicting media reports suggesting 27 or 30 seats for the party. He questioned the ability of Pawan Kalyan to safeguard the interests of the people if the allocation does not align with the Kapu population ratio.
Highlighting the underrepresentation of Kapu, Balija, and Ontari castes, constituting 25% of the population without BC status, Jogaiah lamented the absence of leaders from underprivileged sections in the Chief Minister’s position, barring Damodaram Sanjeevaiah.
Jogaiah urged Chandrababu Naidu to address the allocation disparity and publicly commit to Pawan Kalyan’s tenure as Chief Minister. He emphasised that the focus should shift from the number of seats TDP allocates to JSP to how many seats JSP assigns to TDP. Jogaiah insisted that JSP should be given 50% of the total seats and cautioned that a failure to allocate at least 40 to 50 seats to JSP might cast doubt on the smooth transfer of votes between the two parties.
Drawing parallels with the 2019 elections, Jogaiah recalled the TDP’s electoral setback when it contested without aligning with JSP, underscoring the importance of a united front for electoral success.
