The Andhra Pradesh State Child Rights Protection Commission, led by Chairperson K Appa Rao and accompanied by members G Sitaram, T Adi Lakhsmi, and B Padmavathi, paid a visit to Bala Sandan in Vijayawada. The visit was organised by the Women and Child Welfare Department with the aim of assessing the facilities provided by the government for the girl students residing there.

During the visit, the commission members expressed deep concern and unhappiness over the supervision and provision of facilities by the officers. They discovered that the Bala Sadan suffers from a shortage of staff and improper maintenance of records, raising serious issues regarding the welfare of the girl students. Shockingly, they also noticed the absence of a watchmen facility at the premises.

Chairperson Appa Rao addressed the gathering and highlighted the grave consequences of neglecting the health of girl students. He pointed out that many students had fallen ill due to the lack of proper care. In particular, he mentioned that several students were suffering from skin diseases, a matter that requires immediate attention and intervention. Chairperson Appa Rao directed the concerned officials to take necessary steps to address these health issues and ensure the well-being of the students.
