Housing and I&PR Minister Kolusu Parthasarathy has said that the Chintalapudi lift irrigation scheme will be completed soon, which is happy news for the farmers in Nuzvid area. The Minister conducted door-to-door visits and distributed NTR Bharosa pensions in Katrenipadu village of Musunur mandal on Thursday.
On the occasion, Minister Parthasarathy said the previous government destroyed the State with its negligence on irrigation projects and said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has given utmost priority to irrigation projects. He said that the CM has decided to complete five major irrigation projects in the State, Chintalapudi lift irrigation being one of them. The Minister said that the works of Chintalapudi lift irrigation will be restarted and since the canals are connected to Nagarjunasagar in Nuzvid area, the irrigation water problem will be permanently solved.
He said that big companies like Ashok Leyland had set up their units in Mallavalli during their government’s rule, but due to the neglect of the previous YSRCP government, they left AP. The Minister said that with the initiative of CM Chandrababu Naidu, industries are showing interest in setting up units in Mallavalli, which will provide more job opportunities to the youth of this region. He alleged that no development has taken place in the State in the past five years.
He said that the previous government did not pay the bills of those who had granted houses to the poor in the past and did not even complete the construction of houses which were in the initial stage. When this issue was brought to the attention of the Chief Minister, he promised to pay the house bills and grant new houses to those whose houses are in the initial stage of construction.
The Minister said that NTR Bharosa pensions have been increased from Rs 3,000 to Rs 4,000 and everyone who is eligible will be identified and pension will be provided soon. He said that NTR Bharosa pensions have increased the self-esteem of the elderly and the poor.
On the occasion, the Minister directed the officials to resolve the problems of electricity cables in the oil palm plantations and the issues regarding the electricity bills. He assured of connectivity of roads in the mandal, internal roads and drainage in SC Colony.
