The Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department (AP CID) has taken a significant step by urging the court to grant permission for the arrest of TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh. Lokesh is listed as accused number 14 in the Amaravati Inner Ring Road (IRR) case. The request is based on the contention that Lokesh violated the conditions outlined in a notice served under Section 41A on September 29.
In the recent petition filed at the Court of Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases in Vijayawada, the AP CID elaborated on the alleged violations by Lokesh. The accusations revolve around his interviews with certain Telugu news channels during the culmination of his Yuvagalam Padayatra a few days ago. The CID argues that Lokesh consciously violated the prescribed conditions during these interviews.
The CID’s submission to the court highlighted prior legal actions. On September 27, Lokesh filed an anticipatory bail petition before the High Court, which was closed at the admission stage as the investigating agency intended to issue the notice under Section 41A CrPC. Subsequently, Lokesh attended the investigation for a few days following the summons issued by the CID. The CID emphasizes that the notice served under Section 41A included specific conditions that Lokesh has now allegedly breached during his TV interviews.
