Addressing the issue, Hyderabad-based activist Vijay Gopal said, “Two weeks ago, Arvind Kumar shared a communiqué asking restaurants to refrain from charging for drinking water. However, the government should enforce it.”

He further said, “Two weeks ago, when I was at Pista House, the staff there said there was no free drinking water. Hence, I was forced to purchase packaged bottles.” When this reporter recently visited a bakery, the staff there charged Rs 10 for a water bottle.
