Excerpts from the interview:

Can you tell us what Nazar Lag Gayi (NLG) is all about and what inspired you to make the song?
According to my opinion, Nazar Lag Gayi (NLG) is a very unique composition. The title of the song especially attracted me.

Can you take us through the BTS of NLG?
During the whole shoot and the BTS of NLG, we tried to show the process and the memories we made. For example, when we were singing the song, we could understand a lot of things according to the feel of the song, and we could relate to it, and I think that is what is important for a song.

What do you hope listeners will take away from the song?
As a first song, I hope it impacts the audience and, obviously, the title.

What was the most challenging part of creating this song?
The challenging part of this song was figuring out how to make it fit into my genre. My thought was that if people remember the song and title, which means the song is flourishing.

Farebi has tough lyrics; how did you manage to make them into a melody?
Farebi HAD tough lyrics. For any singer, it is very important to understand the lyrics and the meaning behind them. It was a challenging task, but with the help of music directors, it became comfortable to make that song.

Please tell us about your upcoming projects.
There are surely going to be a lot of projects coming from my end.

Both the singles were released by Indie Music Label; can you share your association with them?
I loved the bonding between us. It was very comfortable. Hats off to music directors and composers for making these compositions.

How has your life changed after winning the Indian Idol title?
A lot of things changed after winning the title. Winning the Indian Idol title is every artist’s dream, and winning that is a proud moment for me.

During the start of your career, did you ever have the feeling of stage fright?
Stage fright is, of course, there when you start something big, but at last you only have two options: give up or prove yourself. I go by the motive that there is no
tomorrow; you have to prove yourself today.

What were the initial challenges you faced in order to get a commercial platform for singing?
Singing on a commercial platform is a very big deal, and it took a lot of effort and hard work to reach here. Hard work always pays off.
