Six women, all farmworkers, died and six others were injured when an auto-rickshaw they were travelling collided with a lorry at Pondugala villageĀ in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh in the early hours of Wednesday
Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao expressed deep grief over the death of six tribal labourers and several injured in a fatal road mishap at Dachepalli in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh.Ā
All the victims hailed from Narsapur village under Damaracharla mandal in Telangana State.Ā
The Chief Minister condoled those who lost their lives in the accident and conveyed deep sympathies to the bereaved family members. He directed Miryalaguda MLA N Bhaskar Rao to provide better medical treatment to the injured persons.Ā
On the request of Minister for Energy G Jagadish Reddy and Bhaskar, the Chief Minister announced an ex gratia of Rs 5 lakh each to the deceased families and Rs 1 lakh to the injured.
It may be recalled that six women labourers were killed and six others were injured when an auto-rickshaw in which they were travelling collided with a speeding lorry at Dachapalli in Andhra Pradesh in the early hours of Wednesday. The horror unfolded at Pondugala village under Dachepalli mandal in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh. All the women were farmworkers.Ā
The accident happened when the auto-rickshaw packed with women and a speeding lorry collided head-on, the police said. The lorry driver did not reportedly stop the lorry after the accident and drove away. The police registered a case.Ā
