CM asks NABARD to provide soft loans, funds for irrigation

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy appealed to NABARD chairman, Shaji KV, to strengthen existing cooperative societies and to set up new cooperative societies.
He also urged the NABARD Chairman to provide loans at low interest rates under RIDF and to sanction funds for micro irrigation projects.
NABARD Chairman Shaji KV met Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Friday. During the meeting, the CM and the NABARD Chairman discussed the strengthening of women’s Self-Help Groups and the CM requested the NABARD chief to launch a special scheme for women’s SHGs.
The Chief Minister wanted NABARD to help increase rice milling capacity by linking IKPs, godowns and rice mills in the state.
The CM asked officials to use sanctioned NABARD funds by March 31 and
to make use of all schemes sponsored by NABARD in the next financial year.
The Chief Minister suggested linking solar power generation plants sanctioned to women’s SHGs to NABARD and appealed to the Chairman to increase rural connectivity in newly created panchayats.
The NABARD Chairman asked the Chief Minister to constitute DCCBs in the new districts.
Tandur MLA Manohar Reddy and NABARD representatives were also present at the meeting.
