Govt has to pay Rs 70,000 crore as loan payback every year
KCR did 100 years’ destruction: CM
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy challenged the BRS and the BJP to a debate on their 2014 and 2018 manifestos against the six guarantees of the Congress government at a special Assembly session.
Addressing the media at the secretariat on Monday, Revanth said, “Kishan Reddy didn’t even meet the new Congress government on any public issue. Our attempts to reach out to him were futile. We went so many times to the Centre, setting aside our political affiliations and meeting many on issues concerning the state. Why are you not cooperating?” “Why should we make Modi the PM a third time so you can kill farmers? What’s the difference between KCR and Modi? Both of you have cheated Telangana. The BJP is speaking the same language as the BRS. Harish Rao and Kishan Reddy are making the same speech,” he said.
He said that except for the KCR family, none in the BRS are in agreement with the party.
“Only KCR can cause destruction so fast. In the last 10 years, he did 100 years destruction. We have to pay Rs 70,000 crore every year to banks as payback for loans. This was Rs 6,000 crore in 2014. Our revenue receipts are Rs 1.3 lakh crore and the loan itself is Rs 70,000 crore. He made the state bankrupt,” he said.
Reacting to KTR’s comments that the Congress wouldn’t have won 30 seats if Revanth was declared the CM Candidate, he said, “KTR is an outsourcing man and he came in the management quota. We go to elections under the leadership of the party president. His father is a party president. I am one and Kishan Reddy is another party president. I organised meetings in 80 Assembly constituencies along with my friends. What is there to announce (CM candidate). There will be decided through contests, but the party president is the head. I faced the election. KCR is the sleeping president and KTR is the working president. What happened to this,” Revanth said.
He said that Rythu Bandhu funds will be deposited by March 31 as the government has to distribute money sector-wise – be it salaries, pensions, welfare hostels etc. Revanth announced a BR Ambedkar study centre will be constructed in all constituencies for job hopefuls.
“Harish Rao should tell how to fix the Medigadda Barrage. The BRS failed in Neelu Nidhulu Niyamakalu. In 70 days we will be the government that gave 30,000 jobs. The BRS couldn’t solve even minor issues and court issues related to employment,” the CM said.
“The free electricity scheme and the Rs 500 LPG cylinder scheme are a recurring process. People can keep applying for it. If restrictions are not placed, even people living in Jubilee Hills will use the free power and Rs 500 LPG,” Revanth said.
Revanth said that agriculture production has not increased in TS. All varieties of crops have gone and now only paddy is being grown. “Groundwater levels have increased due to rains. He didn’t fill the tanks,” the CM said.
