Chief Minister Revanth Reddy appealed to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to release pending funds to Telangana and requested Defence lands from Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
The CM asked Nirmala to release the Rs 1,800 crore pending from 2019-20, 2021-22 to 2023-24 at the rate of Rs 450 crore per year under the Backward Areas Development Programme to Telangana.
The CM and Uttam met the Union Finance Minister in the evening. The CM requested Nirmala to release the Rs 2,233.54 crore dues from the 15th Finance Commission to the state and to allot funds for the development of Hyderabad city. The CM requested Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to transfer lands owned by the Defence Ministry to the Telangana government for constructing roads and elevated corridors in Hyderabad city.
The CM and Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy met the Defence Minister at his residence in the evening. The CM also requested the Defence Minister to consider sanctioning a Sainik School to TS.
The Chief Minister requested Rajnath Singh to transfer 0.21 hectares of Defence land for the construction of a skywalk at Rythu Bazar in Hyderabad’s Mehdipatnam to prevent traffic congestion.
The CM brought to the attention of the Defence Minister that the construction of the skyway is nearing completion at all points except Mehdipatnam due to the delay in transferring Defence land and requested to complete the process fast. Rajnath expressed his willingness to transfer the land.

The CM also appealed to the Defence Minister to transfer 83 acres of Defence lands as the TS government had prepared plans to construct a six-lane elevated corridor from Paradise Junction to Outer Ring Road Junction on the Rajiv Rahadari connecting the Karimnagar–Ramagundam Road to Hyderabad and for the construction of a 11.30 km corridor with entry and exit ramps.

The CM also requested the Defence Minister to transfer 56 acres to construct the 18.30 km elevated corridor proposed from Paradise Junction near Kandlakoya to Outer Ring Road on the Nagpur Highway (NH-44), out of which 12.68 km will be constructed as a six-lane elevated corridor with exit and entry points in four areas, and also a double-decker (for Metro rail) corridor. The Defence Minister responded positively to the CM’s requests.
