Amid the rains in Hyderabad and several districts across Telangana, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has directed officials to remain on alert and adopt all necessary precautionary measures in view of the IMD’s forecast indicating rainfall during the next three days.
Stressing the importance of safeguarding harvested crops, the Chief Minister asked all Collectors to ensure paddy stored at procurement centres and agricultural markets is not damaged. He asked officials to provide covers and speed up the shifting of paddy sacks to rice mills to prevent rain-related spoilage.
Revanth also emphasised timely action in low-lying areas to avoid public inconvenience. “People in vulnerable zones should not suffer due to waterlogging or inaccessibility. Relief measures must be put in place in advance,” he noted.
In Hyderabad city, the Chief Minister asked all departments to ensure that there is no stagnation of water on roads. He also called for seamless traffic movement and uninterrupted power supply. “The GHMC, the police, HYDRAA, traffic and power departments must coordinate,” Revanth said, stressing the need for collective response to any situation.
The Chief Secretary has been tasked with monitoring the situation and conducting regular reviews of on-ground conditions to facilitate immediate decision-making.
