Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy marked a momentous occasion by laying the foundation stone for the state-of-the-art Inorbit Mall in Visakhapatnam, at an estimated investment of Rs 600 crore, undertaken by the renowned K Raheja Group.
The ceremony commenced with the Chief Minister participating in the ground-breaking event and unveiling the commemorative plaque.
Addressing the enthusiastic gathering, CM Jagan expressed his optimism about the Inorbit Mall becoming the pride of Visakhapatnam. Spanning an impressive 13 acres out of the allotted 17 acres, the mall is set to emerge as the largest shopping destination in South India, surpassing the scale of the esteemed Inorbit Mall in Hyderabad.
The visionary project is expected to generate significant employment opportunities, both directly and indirectly, with approximately 8,000 jobs set to be created during its operations.
Furthermore, the Raheja Group has plans to develop IT spaces and an international convention center across the remaining four acres in the second phase, providing employment prospects for around 3,000 individuals.
Highlighting the group’s commitment to contributing to the region’s growth, CM Jagan shared that the Raheja Group has also expressed interest in establishing luxurious Raj Vilas-style hospitality facilities. This initiative aligns with the city’s development ambitions, with the May Fair and Oberoi Hotel groups already working on constructing 7-star hotels and resorts.
The Inorbit Mall project complements the recent foundation laying ceremonies for the Bhogapuram International Airport, Adani Data Centre, and Mulapeta Seaport in Srikakulam district. CM Jagan expressed confidence that the addition of the Inorbit Mall will be a transformative factor for North Andhra, propelling it towards sustained growth and development.
Appreciating the Raheja Group’s dynamic efforts, CM Jagan stated that the group has been allotted 350 acres in Hindupur, Anantapur district, for the establishment of a textile and electronic hardware hub, which is expected to employ 15,000 people. Assuring unwavering support, he pledged to expedite the necessary processes, encouraging investments in the state. He emphasised that Andhra Pradesh stands apart with its proactive and business-friendly environment, assuring prompt resolution of any industrialist’s concerns with a single phone call.
CM Jagan expressed his gratitude to K Raheja Group Chairman Neel Raheja, COO Sravan Kumar, and CEO Rajajeesh Mahajan for their valuable contributions in setting up this remarkable retail facility.
In his remarks, Neel Raheja applauded the administration’s proactive approach and commended the government’s actions. Comparing the event to the past, he mentioned attending the foundation stone laying ceremony with former Chief Minister Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy and now with his son, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. Neel Raheja envisioned the Inorbit Mall in Visakhapatnam becoming an iconic shopping destination akin to the ‘Mall of India; and ‘Mall of Emirates’.
The Raheja Group, known for its successful Inorbit Malls in Vijayawada, Guntur, and Rajahmundry, announced plans to expand its footprint with similar malls in Nellore, Kakinada, and Tirupati. Additionally, the group aspires to develop hotels and landmark complexes not only in Visakhapatnam but also in other regions, symbolising its commitment to the state’s progress and prosperity.
Deputy Chief Minister (PR & RD) B Muthuyala Naidu, Health Minister V Rajani, Education Minister B Satyanarayana, IT and Industries Minister G Amarnath, Municipal Administration Minister A Suresh, TTD Chairman YV Subba Reddy, Visakhapatnam MP MVV Satyanarayana, Raheja Group President Neel Raheja, Inorbit Malls CEO Rajaneesh Mahajan, COO G.
