As part of the launch of ‘Matsyakarula Sevalo’ programme, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu visited Budagatlapalem village on the coast and interacted directly with several local fishing families to understand their lives and challenges.
The Chief Minister first met with Maddi Polesu and Ramalakshmi, a family dependent on traditional sea fishing, and enquired about their issues and struggles.
He then spent time conversing with other villagers, including Kari Rambabu, Uppada Seethogya and Chintapalli Erraiah, discussing their day-to-day lives and fishing activities.
The CM also visited areas where fish are dried, and interacted with women engaged in the activity. He spoke with Maddi Lakshmamma, Kari Seethamma and Varadhi Paidamma to understand the fish-drying process and their methods. He asked about their daily earnings and how the process contributes to their household income.
At the local community hall, the Chief Minister met with boat repair workers Maylapalli Pothuraju and Kari Rambabu, learning about the maintenance challenges they face. He also inspected ice boxes used for fish storage and fishing nets, taking note of the equipment and support needed to improve their operations.
