In a bold step toward establishing Andhra Pradesh as a leader in frontier technologies, the State government has formalised a set of high-profile Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with global tech giants to set up the country’s first Quantum Valley Park in Amaravati.

The Government Order issued by the Department of IT and Electronics on Saturday ratifies agreements with IBM, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), and Larsen & Toubro (L&T), signalling a decisive shift in Andhra Pradesh’s technological ambitions. The project, spearheaded by Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, is part of a broader effort to reinvent Amaravati as a hub for next-generation innovation.

IBM, a pioneer in quantum research, will install its IBM Quantum System Two at the park, powered by the 156-qubit Heron processor—making it India’s most powerful quantum computer to date. This system is expected to drive cutting-edge research and real-world applications in materials science, cryptography, drug discovery, and optimisation.

L&T, a long-time infrastructure partner in national-scale technology projects, will design and develop the park’s physical ecosystem, including labs, data centres, and collaborative spaces, tailored to international standards.

Meanwhile, TCS will bring its deep domain expertise in computing and enterprise solutions to strengthen the quantum ecosystem through skilling, research tie-ups, and institutional partnerships.

The initiative, with a targeted launch in January 2026, is being personally monitored by the Chief Minister, who has instructed the IT Ministry to fast-track development and ensure global best practices are embedded at every stage.

By anchoring Amaravati in the emerging quantum landscape, the Quantum Valley Park is not just a showpiece project—it is a strategic move aimed at making Andhra Pradesh a serious contender in the global technology arena. Once operational, the park is expected to draw international collaboration, incubate deep-tech startups, and position India on the global quantum computing map.

This marks a significant return to Naidu’s signature tech-driven governance model, signalling a new era for the state’s innovation economy.
