CM Naidu misusing police: Jagan

Must read

Former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has alleged that law and order in Andhra Pradesh is fast deteriorating under the NDA government, accusing TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu of misusing police machinery to manipulate local body by-elections.
After consoling the family of Kuruba Lingamayya, who was reportedly murdered in Ramagiri mandal, Jagan told the media that Naidu is resorting to intimidation and coercion to seize control of local bodies where the TDP lacks numbers. “In Ramagiri, the TDP had just one MPTC member compared to YSRCP’s nine. Despite this, they tried to threaten the majority of YSRCP members, roped in the police, and delayed the voting process,” he said.
Jagan claimed the local Sub-Inspector made video calls to intimidate YSRCP members and halted their convoy en route to vote. “Later, Lingamayya was brutally attacked and killed with a baseball bat. Though 20 people were involved, only two were booked. Witnesses were handpicked from TDP to dilute the case. Even the statement of Lingamayya’s son was not recorded,” he alleged.
He said a similar pattern of undemocratic practices was observed in Tirupati, Visakhapatnam, Ramakuppam, and Attili in West Godavari district.
