NTR District Tribal Welfare Department authorities are all set to host the International Tribal Day celebrations on August 9 (Friday) at the Tummalapallivari Kshetriya Kala Kshetram in Vijayawada. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will inaugurate the celebrations and witness various folk dances performed by tribals.
In preparation for the event, Minister for Tribal Welfare and Women and Child Welfare, Gummadi Sandhya Rani, along with Tribal Welfare Secretary K Kanna Babu, NTR District Collector Dr G Srijana, Joint Collector Nidhi Meena, VMC Commissioner HM Dhyanachandra, Tribal Welfare Officer J Sunitha, and Vijayawada RDO Bh. Bhavani Sankar inspected the arrangements at the Kala Kshetram on Thursday.
During the arrangements inspection, Minister Sandhya Rani enquired about the arrangements from the officials and instructed them to ensure the success of the International Tribal Day celebrations. She also emphasised the need to empower tribals and give them proper recognition in society, stating that the government is taking necessary steps towards this goal.
Minister Sandhya Rani highlighted that International Tribal Day is celebrated on August 9 every year nationwide. She also mentioned that several ministers, people’s representatives, tribal leaders, and high-ranking officials are expected to attend the celebrations. She explained that various tribal cultures will be showcased during the event.
Furthermore, Minister Sandhya Rani mentioned that CM Naidu would interact with tribal people to understand and address their issues. Encouraging tribal participation on a large scale, she emphasised the importance of their involvement in making the Tribal Day celebrations successful.
